postal presents

For the postal presents project i made a screwdriver. I thought it would be an interesting challenge if i could make a functioning screwdriver that came in a flat pack.Ii expeimented with a number of different shapes and sizes eventually settleing on my final design. I made four different prototypes to trying to perfect my clearances, and ease of assembly. the entire screwdriver slides and snaps together, because of this, i had to test these snaps on the differing thickness of stainless steel i was using. i had to start this project earlt because i chose to use a laser cutter in northern NSW and the turnaround time was 2 days. Overall i am happy with look, ease of assembly, functionality and feel of the screwdriver.

Derek you haven't posted a picture of your design but i have seen it real life.. It's a wonderful design, unique and differs from everyones else design. You have packaged well and the screw driver parts has been labeled clearly. The only problem i saw in your product is the way it fits together since you have made it out of metal it could hurt the customer hand while applying pressure while fitting it on..

despite lack of picture, having seen it in real life the product is ridiculously clever, and doesn't look hard to put together at all. As Ron pointed out, pressure on the users hand may be a problem, but on the whole great work.

the technicality of the work is incredible and the way u flat packed it was just as amazing but it may not have been very pleasant if my hand/fingers were badly hurt from the construction.
